Optional Extras

Everyone has different needs, so for those who need more, there are additional items to pay for. If you want some extra things, here’s the list. Some are even free if you want them!

§                 Meals: $15/day all you can eat, or $5 per meal if you are not here as a retreat participant on retreat days. Meals are not prepared between retreats, but you can cook for yourself with the food we have here, or join others who are preparing meals together!

§                 Security Box (bring your own padlock). $7 /week. If renting your own private room, you don’t need this. These are more applicable to people who are on retreat sharing a room with others.

§                 Heater for your Room: $50/month electric heater, $25/month gas heater (even if you bring your own, as the cost of fuel is high in the country). $20 per retreat.

§                 Storage: free if only a small space, but if you need a lot of space, we’ll figure something out!

Gaia Sagrada Shower House

The water is always hot! We use on-demand water heating systems in order to conserve on fuel. Why heat water when it’s not being used? Hot water tanks are just silly! And to keep heating them all day when the hot water is not in use? Not smart!

We use propane gas to heat the water but our plan is to incorporate more and more of the passive solar heating methods as time goes on. We are still working on our prototypes right now to figure out which is the most efficient way to heat water without high tech solar equipment.

Our plan is to eventually have most of our showers using water heated by sunlight, with black tubes on the roof under glass enclosed boxes, with a tank at the top to collect the hot water as it is heated. We hope to have our first solar shower house done by mid 2014. In the meantime, we heat with gas and the showers are always strong and hot. No wimpy dribbles! Plenty of water and always super hot!

There is a lot of room in the shower areas, with a dressing area and the shower area separated by the curtain so none of your things get wet while you are showering. Enjoy!

June Ayahuasca Retreat Went Awesome!

Another one of those beautiful soul families came through here! We are naming them Los Primeros (The Firsts) since they were the first to try out our new ceremonial pavilion for the outdoor San Pedro ceremonies. What an awesome new ceremonial gazebo we have now. We used it and it works perfectly! The energy in there is so sweeeet!

We had yet another transformative and amazing retreat, with huge changes for everyone and new directions becoming clearer for all who were at a crossroads in life. Ayahuasca shows the way, and San Pedro gives you the power to make it happen. Go!

Everyone had so much fun, too. Lots of laughter, lots of jokes, and yes, there were serious moments too, with tears of grief, sadness and even joy at the new beginnings that were to begin when returning home. Hurts from the past were let go, anger at how things went in life were put to peace, and love was embraced by all as they look now at life from a different perspective.

What a diverse group the June retreat group is. People from Europe, Australia, USA, Korea, Nicaragua, and probably some other places I am forgetting to mention. Everyone in these groups come from so many different cultures, backgrounds and histories. It is wonderful how we get to see the world coming together right here at Gaia Sagrada. Who says peace isn’t possible in the world? We are all the same, really. Everyone just wants to be happy!

We will miss you all, and will always remember you as Los Primeros, the first to try out the new San Pedro ceremonial gazebo! Thanks for breaking it in and starting the vortex of energy that is there for all to enjoy as time comes to pass in the future. Thanks for sharing all your talents, the yoga, the rumba, the music, and the love!
